Collections Manager

We aim to be the primary service provider for the people and entities responsible for the care, movement, and long-term preservation of art and culture. Our Collections Manager is responsible for ensuring safety and integrity of all collections of artifacts and art to and from museums across the world, regional art galleries, and private venues.

In addition to physical requirements, this role also provides leadership and guidance during projects while acting as a liaison between clients and company managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Using Crozier’s appropriate techniques and materials:

  • Manage facility projects (from planning/pricing through execution/billing) to ensure successful delivery in terms of scope, deliverables, and client satisfaction
  • Provide general support to the warehouse operations team, is not limited to creating, maintaining and editing paperwork, documents, spreadsheets, files, filing paperwork and updating facility calendar
  • Exceed customer expectations via responsiveness, providing insights, marketplace knowledge, and resolving issues
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal teams, including Technicians, Sales and Development, and Managers
  • Utilize problem-solving abilities if changes to the project occur- work through issue resolution to completion, delegating or escalating when necessary
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions for any issues related to assigned projects
  • Create and review invoices for accuracy, and ensure invoices are approved in a timely manner
  • Maintain functional knowledge of new features, products and initiatives across Crozier, Adjacent Businesses and Iron Mountain
  • Assisting with the receiving and release of any artifacts and or fine art - includes, packing/unpacking, loading/unloading trucks, and subsequent paperwork (i.e. AIMS database entry and updates.)
  • Monthly Storage Reporting - includes thoroughly assessing all storage spaces conditions, temperatures condition of packed crates and art storage practices.
  • Spend 5% of time on laptop / desktop computer, telephone

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with an arts or historical collection
  • Demonstrated experience with object handling, packing, transport and storage
  • Experience in preventative conservation, including strong understanding of best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with a demonstrated attention to detail
  • Proficiency in computer applications specific to art inventory management (i.e. AIMS)
  • Ensure collection workspaces, galleries, and storage are maintained to the highest standard
  • Cultivate a collaborative and thoughtful work environment that yields success and productivity
  • Ability to work cohesively with different departments from Operations Management, Administrative Staff, Project Managers, and support staff.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
  • Deliver communications clearly, effectively, and in a timely fashion clients
  • Must be comfortable climbing ladders, bending, stopping, kneeling, and lifting 50 to 75 lbs
